LNG

CBM will significantly contribute to power generation for the region through gas and steam turbines. Based on the work done to date, each well will produce at economical and commercial rates due to the huge gas Reserves in the reservoirs.

Gas

The commercial production of CBM will result in the emergence of a gas industry in the region and the direct and indirect jobs created through pipeline construction and gas infrastructure installation.

Production of Urea and Hydrogen

CBM will be used as feedstock in the production of urea from a new fertiliser complex, thus creating direct and indirect jobs and increasing agricultural productivity in the region. The urea plant will be the first in Southern Africa which will lead to exporting urea to the SADC region and most of Africa.

Plastics and Chemicals Industry

CBM is a chemical feedstock in the manufacture of plastics and chemicals. The growth of this industry will lead to employment creation and the establishment of a new knowledge-base in the region in areas such as polymer industry and the petrochemical industry. CBM has the added advantage of being the lowest in terms of emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, when compared to coal and petroleum.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) use in Transportation

Countries like Iran, Pakistan and Brazil use CNG as an automotive fuel substitute to petrol. Direct and indirect employment is created in the automotive industry through the conversion of petrol cars to gas. Iran has more than 3 million natural gas vehicles

Gas to Liquids (GTL)

CBM can be converted into liquid synthetic fuels. Petroleum is one of the region’s largest imports and production of liquid fuels domestically will go a long way to reduce the trade deficit.

Fuel-cell Technology

Natural gas or renewable biogas are ideal fuel sources for fuel-cell technology. Access to CBM can be exploited for the development of fuel cells in the region.

Power Generation

For Power Generation we will have a Solar-Gas hybrid solution. We will source the best technology in the world that will be used in generating power efficiently. Since our gas does not need further processing except the removal of moisture, it will be fed straight into the engines/turbines and with its tested 95% purity it will be so productive and lower consumption and power costs. Huge capital commitments will be made to ensure there are proper efficiencies in Power Generation and feeding into the main Southern Africa Power Pool grid. There will be the use of advanced technology to assist in the recording and warning signals to ensure safety and efficiency in all the processes. Experts in the energy production will be contracted in order to avert the aspect of production inefficiency
